Devlog #2 - New assets and first jobs
Hello again, this is devlog number 2 for Attach-Mend: A DIY simulation game.
So since the last video I have updated the models of the multi-tool and hands, utilising normal maps for the attachments to fake the surface details. I updated the menu graphics and added a little finger animation for when the attachments are changed. Also a few tweaks to the movement and actions.
Fitting the shelf was tricky, so I changed the perspective when placing it above the brackets. Other than that I have created 2 new jobs to complete…
There is a wardrobe with a wonky door. As usual line up the crosshairs and drive the screw in to straighten up the door and voila!
The other job is a bit more complex. There is a door against the wall and the job is to lean it into place and screw the hinges to the frame.
Arrows can guide you in positioning the door. Now, to drive the screws I have added some more controls: space to go on tip-toe, shift to kneel and control to crawl.
Close and open the door again to complete the job. Magnificent!!
So there we have it, my second devlog over and moving on to the next update with a few more jobs and a UI bar for battery power.
Thanks for tuning in, it is free to play in the browser, so go and try it out for yourself. I hope to see you in the next one.
